Dr. Muninarayana C, Professor of Community Medicine, has assumed the position of Controller of Examinations for the second term at the Sri Devaraj Urs Academy of Higher Education and Research in Kolar, Karnataka, India. Dr. Muninarayana C
is an Alumni of Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College, Kolar. He joined MBBS in 1986 as first-batch student at Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College and went on to complete his postgraduate studies in M.D. Community Medicine at Mysore Medical College
and Research Institute in Mysore, Karnataka. He began his career as a Lecturer in the Department of Community Medicine at Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College and has worked here in various capacities ranging from Assistant Professor to
Professor for over 25 years. Various positions held include Professor and Head of Community Medicine at Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College. He served as Director of Student Welfare and Controller of Examinations at Sri Devaraj Urs Academy of
Higher Education and Research in Kolar.
He taught Community Medicine to students from various programmes such as MBBS, MD Community Medicine, MSc Nursing, and allied health Sciences, among others. Many Postgraduate students in Community Medicine were mentored and guided. He is the PhD supervisor in the subject of Community Medicine and many students were co-supervised. He served as Internal Examiner at Sri Devaraj Urs Academy of Higher Education and Research in Kolar and External Examiner for a number of universities both within and outside of the state. Conducted Community based Research and clinical trials in association with funding agencies. He published many papers in reputed National and International medical journals. He is affiliated to the professional bodies as members to Indian Medical Association, Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine and Karnataka Association of Community Health.
