Department Of Anatomy

Overview

Anatomy forms the basis for the practice of medicine. Anatomy leads the physician towards an understanding of a patient’s disease whether he/she is carrying out a physical examination or using a most advance imaging techniques. Teaching Anatomy for undergraduate students aims to provide comprehensive knowledge of gross anatomy, microscopic structure, osteology, radiology, genetics and development of human body to build an anatomical basis for understanding the clinical correlation of organs or structures involved.

Department of Anatomy was established in the year 1986 under Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College, a constituent college of Sri Devaraj Urs Academy of Higher Education & Research. Our faculties are actively involved in educating the students to reach the educational objectives. The staffs are trained in medical education, evaluation processes and application of E-Learning tools.

Objectives
  • To encourage undergraduate and postgraduate students to carry out research in their field of interest
  • To use research skills acquired from various academic activities, to use appropriate statistical methods to analyze and interpret the data and critically review the scientific literature
