Dr. P.N. Sreeramulu,

Dr (Prof) P N Sreeramulu, had assumed the appointment of the Dean, Faculty of Medicine of Sri Devaraj Urs Academy of Higher Education and Research, Tamaka, Kolar, Karnataka, and the Principal of Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College, Tamaka, Kolar, Karnataka on 18 January 2019.

An alumnus of JSS Medical College, Mysuru, Dr. Sreeramulu completed his Medical Education MBBS and MS in General Surgery from the prestigious Mysore University. He is a Fellow in Minimal Access Surgery (FMAS) and is also a Fellow of the Association of Indian Surgeons (FAIS) and he has been elected member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (India) in the year 2020 (MNAMS). He has been a teacher and administrator in various challenging capacities in Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College and the attached R L Jalappa Hospital and Research Centre, a constituent of Sri Devaraj Urs Academy of Higher Education and Research, Kolar (a deemed to be university under UGC act 1956). He has been Asstt Professor, Assoc Professor, and Professor in the Dept of Surgery in this college, before he was appointed Unit Head and subsequently the Head of the Dept of Surgery. He has worked as Vice-Principal of the Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College.

He had a successful tenure as the Medical Superintendent of the R L Jalappa Hospital and Research Centre, Tamaka, Kolar. He has a cumulative teaching experience of 24 years for undergraduate and 19 years for postgraduate students of General Surgery and other related specialties in this college. He has experience of 18 years as an administrator and team leader.

 He has been the university examiner for undergraduate and postgraduate students in Surgery across various universities. Dr. Sreeramulu is an SDUAHER (Sri Devaraj Urs Academy of Higher Education and Research, Kolar) recognized guide and mentor for a Ph.D. in General Surgery. Dr (Prof) P N Sreeramulu has some 121 medical publications to his credit in national /international indexed journals and had presented 18 scientific papers at various conferences and CME sessions. He has also functioned as an editor-in-chief and chairman of the magazine committee for the official SDUAHER magazine, “Sankeerna”
